So I got unwrapped today and got all the details
from the doctor.
It wasn't good.
In fact it's pretty much the opposite of what I was expecting.
Real simple. In 2013 I had a tumor removed from my
inner ear. It wrecked my hearing.
Then I had a post op infection that lasted almost 3 full months.
After that I had to let the stuff heal and then a follow up
surgery was supposed to reconstruct as much of my hearing
as possible. That was delayed because my Dad passed away
and then my appendix exploded and had to be removed.
Yesterday when I was opened up the doctor found a new
tumor and the planned reconstruction got turned into a demolition.
That's why surgery was an hour longer then expected and
probably why I was in so much pain in recovery.
Originally surgery was supposed to be 3 to 4 hours but
ended up being right around 5. Plus an hour+ in recovery.
It was pretty bad so they gave me something, I dunno what, that
was really strong and had me still feeling the effects a good
seven hours later.
It wasn't morphine, I've had that before. Morphine is a warm
feeling that rolls over you and chills everything out.
That wouldn't have worked yesterday.
Whatever I got numbed everything and made me hella groggy.
The searing hot pulsing pain inside my head literally disappeared
in a few seconds and then I was in another dimension for hours.
In June I'm having a hearing test and I'll probably be determined
legally deaf (if I want a handicap permit for parking).
I will 100% need a hearing aid now and there is the prospect
of yet another surgery in September/October to make sure
the tumor is gone, my balance is preserved, and limited
reconstruction maybe happens.
I don't have an eardrum now. That thin membrane is gone.
I might be able to get a reconstructed one, but that
remains to be seen. Recovery and a future scan will
determine if that's possible.
I lost many of the bones that are part of the hearing
system and a certain amount of skull was carved out
because it was diseased.
Basically what was once a hearing organ is now going
to be empty space.
What's even moar funner is the fact that my ear cavity is
full of absorbent material. Like 2 or 3 inches inside my head.
That gets pulled out of my head AND new material gets put in.
My doctor told me to take a pain pill 10 minutes before arriving
because it's not going to be fun.
It gets better too. I have to do it three times over the next three
weeks.
Total recovery is like 3 months as long as I don't get any
infections.
So yeah. That's my fucked up problem and there goes my entire
summer. I have a surgery planned for the other ear in June/July.
Since I can't hear I really can't waste time watching movies on
Netflix. I'm not allowed to do any lifting or moving. I can't get
wet. I can't bend over. It's just too much fun
from the doctor.

Been a long time!!!
Recapping fast for those who care.
I didn't get the supervisor position, a brown noser got it. I expect him to burn out just like the last 2 have.
So maybe after this one flames out under the workload and pressure I'll finally get that raise.
I met a girl, a model, and then un-met her, but it was a fun few weeks.:giggle:

Just way busy
Work, overtime, the garden, and now a graphics tablet.
I got my Huion and it works if I only use that and not a dual monitor set up.
I am working on upgrades to make sure I can use both monitors without lag.
I got the 19 inch GT-190
I like it for a first graphics tablet.
In a year I'll probably upgrade to the IPS models.
I'm using the free version of Krita. I might go for Clip Studio later.
My online art courses start in a month or so.
I'm going to delete the majority of my gallery. I'll keep a few select pieces.
Everything else is going bye bye.
I'm also removing a good 100+ people from my watch list.
Riot! Air goggles! Giveaway!
3 new music videos (actually albums) and 3 new art videos on the profile page!!
The art videos are really good this week.:eager:
Stupid thunderstorm killed one of my sunflowers. :rage:
I got something called a T-Rex Aloe plant a few weeks ago.
It's really cool, I'll take piks eventually.
It's just an Aloe with a ton of teeth like spikes on it, but I think it's really cool.
Turns out the one I bought was actually 5 plants.:faint:
I didn't realize until it was too late. One died. But the other 4 are now
properly separated and hopefully going to survive.
I literally have to build a window display so that I can have all my
plants insid
